Waste of Time is a game that counts the time you spend not opening the app. To keep a score and a leaderboard, it needs to know who you are and when you open the app. That is all that is collected, and this page says exactly what.

What is collected

• Your account identifier. Your email address if you create an account with one, or the identifier passed on by Apple or Google if you sign in through them. It is what lets you get your record back after a reinstall.
• Your nickname. You choose it, and it is public: it appears on the leaderboard.
• The dates and times you open the app. This is the heart of the game: without them, there is no score.
• Your scores. The score of your latest absence, your best score, and the date you last showed up.
• Your country. Filled in once from the region set on your phone, and changeable at any time in the settings, where leaving it out remains an option. It is only ever used to filter the leaderboard.
• The players you follow. That list is visible to you alone. Following is one-way: the person followed is not told, and nobody can find out who follows them.

What is not collected

• No advertising, no advertising trackers, no third-party analytics.
• No location data. Your country comes from the region set on your phone, never from your position or your IP address.
• No contacts, no photos, no access to your microphone or camera.
• No notifications are ever sent, so no notification token is stored.
• No data is sold, rented, or passed to anyone for commercial or advertising purposes.

What is public

Your nickname and your best score appear on the leaderboard, where other players can see them.

Your nickname can also be found by search, from three characters on: that is how players add one another. The search returns nicknames only, never scores or countries, and at most eight at a time.

Your country is shown to nobody. It only decides who appears in which leaderboard. Your email address is never shown to anyone either.

Where the data lives

The data is hosted by Supabase, on servers located in the European Union, in Paris. Supabase acts as a processor: it hosts the database and handles authentication, and does not use this data for its own purposes.

If you sign in with Apple or Google, those companies know that you use Waste of Time, under their own rules. You can avoid this by creating an account with an email address instead.

Why this processing is lawful

Your account, your nickname, your openings and your scores are processed to deliver the service you ask for by installing the game: keeping your score and ranking you. That is the performance of our agreement.

How long it is kept

For as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time from inside the app: Settings, then Delete my account. Deletion is immediate and final. Your nickname, your scores, your country and your opening history disappear, and you leave the leaderboard. You also disappear from the lists of those who followed you, just as your own list goes. There is no bin, no grace period, and no copy is kept beyond technical backups, which rotate out within thirty days.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, its correction, its erasure, the restriction of its processing, object to its processing, and receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.

Erasure is available directly in the app, in two taps. For anything else, write to the address below.

If an answer does not satisfy you, you may complain to the French data protection authority: Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés, 3 place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris, France, www.cnil.fr. If you live elsewhere in the European Union, you may complain to your own national authority.

Children

Waste of Time is not intended for children under thirteen. In France, anyone under fifteen needs a parent's permission to create an account.

Security

Traffic to the server is encrypted. The curve that turns an absence into points never leaves the server, and the game tables can only be read by their owner. Your password is never stored in plain text.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Any significant change will be announced in the app before it takes effect.
